With advanced features and a user-friendly application, the Smart Lock Ultra is aimed at anyone who wants to combine convenience and security in one product.

The Nuki Smart Lock Ultra is based on Apple Home Key technology, which enables Apple users to open their doors directly via their iPhone or Apple Watch. This means that the smartphone or smartwatch can now be used as a key – practical for those who no longer want to use traditional keys. In addition to HomeKit integration, the Smart Lock Ultra also offers compatibility with other smart home systems such as Google Home and Amazon Alexa. This versatility makes the lock a particularly flexible choice for the connected home.

Security is at the forefront of the new Nuki model: thanks to an enhanced encryption protocol, the Smart Lock Ultra offers maximum protection against unauthorized access. But not everything has improved. In particular, you now need to allow more time for installation than with previous Nuki models. After all, the new Smart Lock Ultra is not installed on just any cylinder.

Instead, you have to install your own cylinder. Nevertheless, the manufacturer emphasizes that no previous technical knowledge is required for the installation. All you have to do is replace the existing cylinder with the universal cylinder from Nuki. This is particularly practical for tenants, as the lock can be attached to the door without any structural modifications. The annoying thing is that each cylinder is to a certain extent exclusive.

So if you want to equip several doors in your home with a Smart Lock Ultra, you need to have several keys to hand in case of an emergency. This can be quite annoying. On the other hand, the stylish design must be emphasized. The fifth generation of smart locks from Nuki is now much more compact than its predecessors. This makes it easier to integrate into modern households.

With the latest lock from Nuki, three different speed modes can be selected thanks to the new brushless motor. If you want the lock to close and open as quietly as possible, select “Gentle”. In addition to the standard mode, which locks and unlocks the lock in two seconds, there is also a third mode called “Insane”. Here it should take just one and a half seconds for the lock to be locked or unlocked.

The door lock receives the energy required for operation from the integrated lithium-polymer battery. This should be able to last for several months when fully charged. A full charge should take just under two hours. The Nuki Smart Lock Ultra can be charged while installed using the new magnetic charging connection. The associated Nuki app enables comprehensive control over the Smart Lock Ultra.

This includes functions such as remote access, allowing users to open or close the door even when they are not at home. This feature is particularly useful for granting access to suppliers or friends without having to be present. The app also shows detailed activities and enables the allocation of time-limited access rights, ideal for guests or service providers.

The Smart Lock Ultra offers a modern, secure and easy-to-use solution for the smart home. With Apple Home Key and extensive control options, it sets new standards in terms of security and convenience. The price for the Nuki Smart Lock Ultra including universal cylinder, which will be released at the beginning of December, is expected to be € 349. If you don’t want to have to replace the cylinder, you can also opt for current models such as the Nuki Smart Lock Pro (€ 299.05 *) or the significantly cheaper Nuki Smart Lock (€ 169.99 *.
